We hope the year started great for all of you. We have some updates and we wanted to share them with you here.
As you all know, our company Sportswear of Tomorrow has been at the forefront of using recycled materials, for almost over 8 years! Yes, that’s right – almost since the introduction of these fabrics by the fabric mills in Europe.
BUT – what disturbed us since then, was that after we produced garments made of recycled fishing nets, there were many little startups (and bigger) companies all claiming they make sportswear made out of fishing nets and plastic bottles, just because they buy garments from factories like us that use mills that claim the fabric is made out of recycled plastic waste.
We felt it’s a little bit like greenwashing. Or just claiming big things, with little back up for it.
SO – Since November ’22 we have been in Thailand, to actually see what we can do about this. How we can actually make a big impact.
If you have been in South East Asia (but not only here), you MUST have noticed how beautiful beaches, reefs and all are being polluted by all sorts of waste. Just wandering on the beach shores, we were thinking something has to happen. We contacted diving companies, environment associations, yachting companies, resorts to see if there would be interest to do something about it.
The feedback has been unbelievable! Opportunities from working for the best soccer clubs, national soccer teams, the best resorts, the biggest festivals worldwide. Just – wow.

– bring the recovered nets to a plant to get them recycled
