Custom rash guards for BJJ, MMA, surf and swim brands
We make custom rash guards for fight brands first, and for surf and swim labels alongside them, always under your own label. Fight and swim rash guards use the same fabric (Italian Carvico Vita PL, 78% recycled polyester / 22% elastane: GRS-certified, UPF 50+ and OEKO-TEX certified); the cut, sleeve length and artwork are chosen per style.
Custom BJJ and no-gi rash guards
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) and no-gi grappling ask a lot of a rashguard: it has to stay in place through scrambles, guard work and takedowns, and look sharp in the photos your customers post afterwards. We make a tight fit in long or short sleeve, with rank colours built into the artwork so one design can run across a full belt range. Your woven label goes in the neck, and nothing of ours goes on the garment.

For mixed martial arts (MMA) and fight-team brands, sublimation carries sponsor logos and brand artwork edge to edge, across seams and sleeves, with no print layer to crack. The approved file is kept for every restock, so a fight-week drop matches the one before it.

Surf and swim rash guards
Surf and swim labels usually want bold, all-over prints: gradients, photography and patterns that would be impossible with screen printing. The fabric is rated UPF 50+ and OEKO-TEX certified, so you can promise UV protection your customers understand without overclaiming.

What makes our custom rash guards premium?
Three things you can check yourself: the fabric, the print and where it is made.
Fabric
Italian Carvico Vita PL, a premium performance fabric: 78% recycled polyester with 22% elastane, for stretch and recovery in a tight fit. It is GRS (Global Recycled Standard) certified recycled fabric, so the recycled content is backed by a certification rather than a slogan. The fabric is also rated UPF 50+ for UV protection and OEKO-TEX certified.
Dye-sublimation turns the ink into a gas that bonds with the polyester fibre. The design becomes part of the fabric: it doesn’t crack or peel, there is no ink layer to feel on the skin, and there is no limit on the number of colours.
Build
Every custom rashguard is printed, cut and sewn in our own factory in Aiud, Romania, where Sportswear of Tomorrow has made custom sublimated sportswear since 2002. There are no partner factories, and the same team and the same approved pattern handle every reorder.

Styles
Which rash guard styles can we customise?
Four cuts are ready to customise today: men’s and women’s, each in long and short sleeve.
Each cut can carry any artwork, from a single chest logo to a full all-over print, and each product page has its own design template. Long sleeve suits grappling and cooler water; short sleeve suits striking, training and warm-weather surf.
Developing your own cut? We work from your tech pack or a reference sample, and the finished pattern becomes the base for every future custom rashguard in that line. See product development.
Private Label
What can you customise on a custom rash guard?
Almost everything you can see, plus the labels and packaging your customers touch.
- Artwork and logos: all-over designs, chest and sleeve logos, sponsor panels and slogans, edge to edge.
- Colourways: rank colours for a BJJ range, seasonal drops or limited editions from one base design.
- Pantone matching on request: we match to your Pantone or colour code. Slight colour differences can occur because sublimation ink absorbs into the fabric.
- Personalised rash guards: a name or number per piece, for athlete signature pieces, team editions or pre-order drops.
- Your own pattern and size grading: product development is a paid service per style, and part of the fee is refunded once the style reaches volume.
- Labels, hangtags and packaging: your woven labels, hangtags and packaging are made by specialised label and packaging suppliers. You order and pay them directly and have them delivered to us, and we fit them in production.
Screens show colour differently from fabric, so the approved physical sample, not the screen, is the colour reference for new styles and bulk runs. One honest limit of sublimation: a sublimated black is never quite as deep as a pre-dyed black fabric. We tell you before you approve, not after.

The Process
How do I order custom rash guards?
You send your artwork and brief, approve a digital mockup, approve a sample for new styles and bulk runs, and we produce 2.5–4 weeks after artwork approval.
Pick one of our four cuts or send a tech pack, a drawing or a reference sample. Add your logo and artwork, the quantities per size and your launch date.
We develop the pattern for your style. New colourways or new artwork on a developed style don’t need a new development.
You approve a digital mockup of every design. New styles and bulk runs also get a physical sample, and you approve fit, colours, logo placement and sizes before production starts.
Printed, cut and sewn in our own factory in Aiud, Romania, ready 2.5–4 weeks after artwork approval, bulk included.
We keep your pattern and artwork on file, so the next drop of your custom rashguards is made to the same approved spec, from a single size upwards.
What artwork files should I send?
Vector files work best: AI, EPS, SVG or PDF. Place your design on the downloadable template for your cut (on each product page linked above), so panels, seams and sleeves line up the way you intend. Send photographic or textured elements at the highest resolution you have. Not sure your files are ready? Send what you have, and we’ll tell you what’s missing before any mockup is made. Will I see a proof before production?
Yes. Our designers place your artwork on our production templates as a digital mockup for your approval. New styles and bulk runs also get a physical sample, so you see the real print, colour and fit on the real fabric before anything goes into production.
How long does it take?

- Development and sample (new styles only): planned per style in your quote, before production.

- Existing cuts: from 1 piece, so you can test a design, shoot a campaign or restock a single size without buying a season up front.
- Your own developed style: the minimum depends on the fabric and colour, and we confirm it in your quote.
- Bonded or glued seams: from 300 pieces.
- Larger orders: Volume discounts apply to larger orders.

How do you choose a custom rash guard manufacturer?
Most custom rash guards online are made in large export factories in Asia or printed on demand from blank stock. Both can work. Before you choose, ask any manufacturer these five questions:
- Which fabric, exactly? Ask for the mill, the composition and the weight, not just “polyester spandex”. Ours: Italian Carvico Vita PL, 78% recycled polyester / 22% elastane, 190 g/m².
- Is the recycled content certified? Ask for the certification by name. All our fabrics are GRS certified.
- Who prints, cuts and sews? Many suppliers subcontract. We print, cut and sew in our own factory in Aiud, Romania.
- What’s the minimum, and for restocks too? We make from 1 piece on existing cuts, for first orders and restocks alike.
- When do I see a sample, and how long is bulk? New styles and bulk runs get a physical sample to approve. Production takes 2.5–4 weeks from artwork approval.
Can I get a sample before ordering in bulk?
Yes. New styles and bulk runs always get a physical sample, so you approve the fit, the print colours and the logo placement on the real fabric before production starts. On our existing cuts you can order a single piece to test. Sample cost and shipping are confirmed in your quote. 50% of a paid sample’s cost is credited against your bulk order of at least €2,000 ex VAT (shipping excluded).
Who owns the pattern?
We keep the pattern on file for your reorders, and you can buy it if you want to own it. We do not resell or reuse client-specific patterns.
Will my rash guards carry your branding?
No. None of the garments carry our branding.
Your woven labels, hangtags and packaging are made by specialised label and packaging suppliers. You order and pay them directly and have them delivered to us.
